I dabbled with Triathlon in 2011 with a super sprint at Eton Dorney where I panicked in the lake then swam as fast as I could to get out and fainted on the exit ramp! Not a great introduction to the sport I then procrastinated for a year before I was persuaded to join Horsham Tri Club in 2013 by fellow club member Emma, who tried to convince me that triathlon was much more fun than hockey. After a few sessions I was hooked.

The support and advice from the coaches and members at HTC was fantastic and soon I was investing in my first road bike and signing up to a few events. Since then I have completed various sprint distance triathlons and my first half marathon. I have just signed up to my first Olympic distance tri and I am looking forward to this new challenge. I would not have been able to achieve any of this without the support and encouragement from the coaches and fellow members at HTC, they are truly fantastic and great fun to be around.

As a member of the HTC committee my role is mainly the running and organisation of our Go Tri events. We started these events last year as we want to encourage new people to come and have a go at Triathlon and join in the fun! Go Tri is a great way to come and dip your toe in the water (excuse the pun) as its just an aquathlon so no need for a bike. Its a short event, it only costs £5 and its really friendly, so come and have a go.
