My hope is that the members of the club get something out of my coaching and achieve their goals.

Go Paul Go!

Coach Paul

After many years of cycling around the countryside, I decided to have a go at triathlons. I don’t actually remember why or what triggered the idea, but that was seven years ago. I started doing sprint distance, pool swims only for the first two years. The first time I put a wetsuit on was for the National sprint championships, and did breaststroke for the whole 750m I was so scared. I wasn’t the bravest!

Since then I’ve won a few races and competed for GB a few times at Worlds and Euros in the sprint distance. 2015 I did the same but at 70.3 half ironman distance. My aim for 2016 is the European champs at Olympic distance, maybe the Worlds too.

During this time I’ve coached a few team mates on a 1-2-1 level, trying to make them better athletes, based on my experience in racing and training. I’ve always enjoyed trying to help people improve their performance no matter what level they are at.  Having become more involved with Horsham Tri Club in 2015 it seemed a natural progression to start coaching on a more official basis.
